Painting a Dump Truck and Liking it

Image
You can tell I'm in my artistic adolescence...I'm destroying old paintings and painting dump trucks and abstracts! (see dump truck above). I'm having such a blast digging through piles of - literally - hundreds of paintings, altering some, finishing all, putting lots of ebay (look for seller "susankennedy")...I'm becoming worried that I'm going to drop dead and my poor husband or children will have to dig through my mess and wonder why I had to be so disorganized. BUT... it IS getting better!  I think I'll post next about changing the landscape below from a very simple oil demo done for class, into a fresher knife painted landscape/abstract which is more fun. I think I did this to about eight paintings yesterday, my kitchen was a mess.  Smiling. Check out all of the ones which have made it to my "Make an Offer" ebay listings by clicking  here , or just go to ebay and search for ebay seller "susankennedy". Thanks for look...

New Paintings on Ebay, my gallery for the time being! Abstract Painting Landscape and small watercolor paintings too

Image
You guys, I'm putting a big pile on Ebay again, boy it's cleanup time. I'm unhappily turning into an abstract painter, but still don't see why I should let go of landscape. Ha, I'm writing a little book about it. It's probably easy to tell that the abstracts have my interest, they just seem more narrative and poetic than the realist landscapes. Why, I just don't know. I guess a landscape can tell a story, but it's not as impulsive and easy as an abstracted landscape or a pure abstract. Which my daughter insists I NEVER do.  So...here are a couple that are there in my ebay listings. Even a floral: If you'd like to look at them all (they're all for sale, in fact please just make me a fair offer!) you can look here. Thanks, and check in later!

Oh My Gosh, Red Flowers and Glass!

Image
Love love love this photo of mine: the light, the water, the glass, the red of the little flowers! They are the tiny dianthus that my Brian brought me for Mother's Day. We're going to paint a simplified version of this subject matter tomorrow at Fowler Park in Watercolor class!  A new watercolor session will be starting in June, so sign up if you want to learn a lot about treating this fascinating medium with the boldness, respect and sheer delight that it deserves!! New Watercolor Painting Ebook with Printable Art Files for Greeting Cards

Image
I'm so excited to finally start publishing my various painting ebooks on Amazon!  Here's the first  , and it's packed with step by step photos of this advanced level watercolor still life project. When it's sized to 8.5 x 11, it's 22 pages, not sure what that turns in to on an ereader. It's not so much intended as a tutorial for you to duplicate this painting, but a discussion of how I tackled a complex subject which included flowers and china. There's even a link to a 29 minute video of me painting this watercolor! (If you'd like to see my little youtube painting videos,  click here for my channel ). Also, with each of the art ebooklets I publish, I'm including downloadable files (5" x 7" and 300 dpi jpg's) of my art, so that you can print out mini prints, greeting cards, or notecards (you can see the ones which are included in the little box on the cover art). It's so inspiring talking with people about watercolor, an...
